Packing up this morning, it was nice knowing it was the last drive of the trip, although a bit sad that it's coming to an end. We have seen such beautiful and amazing sights on our trip. What a gorgeous country in which we live. It's great to have had the opportunity to explore some of it.
We left Marco Island on the north bridge and soon got on I-75 headed east. There wasn't much to see on the way and as we got closer to the east coast, the traffic thickened and there was a lot of congestion. After more than five weeks of perfect weather, we hit some heavy rain. We found our way to our little hotel, the Tropi Rock. From our home at Lake Tahoe to the hotel in Fort Lauderdale, we drove 4,972.4 miles.
The next few days we will get ourselves organized for the flight home to Anguilla. We have things to pack and mail back to Tahoe and to Anguilla (way too much to carry with us on the plane), things to buy to take with us, and truck-related tasks. We're just a block from the Atlantic but probably won't be going there; after all, these beaches are nothing compared to Anguilla.
