It was a rather boring day of driving, 200 miles on the highway. One thing about Montana, there sure isn't much traffic compared to the Bay Area or even Reno. Maybe even Anguilla! As interstate driving goes, it was a pretty route. We stopped at a Wheat Montana place - quite a setup, with a bustling deli/bakery/store next to the mill. We saw lots of wheat fields on our drive. At the Wheat Montana place we got sandwiches to go and later had our picnic lunch near a rushing creek that fascinated Tuna.
People in Montana must not see many Z4s because we sure have had the looks and comments. More pickups here than anything else. Some impressions of Montana (right or wrong, just impressions): People like their space. Lots of people seem to own hundreds or thousands of acres. You see some fancy homes but more small ones and lots of log cabins and even manufactured homes (must get pretty cold in the winter). You'd better like to chop wood if you live here. There are lots and lots of wheat fields. Little towns here and there, a long way apart. It is in many ways the wild west. Taxidermy signs are common. Hunting is common. Gun shops are located in every tiny town as well as the big ones.
We had a great dinner at an Asian place called Iza, in quaint downtown Missoula. If you are ever in Missoula, we highly recommend it, really fresh food with interesting flavors.
Happy birthday Tony, living the good life in Honolulu!
