Today is Tuna's 14th birthday.  She has been with us for a little over 11 years.  We stopped at a McDonald's en route and treated her to a french fry.  She loves them and didn't want to wait until they cooled down enough.  She likes licking the salt off the fry and then we break it into little pieces and she eats those.  She has inherited the Miller/Anderson genes, loving those fries!

It was a pretty drive.  Unfortunately, the skies were overcast and we even had some rain (the rain came after Mark washed the car of course).  During most of the trip we were traveling through the Flathead Indian Reservation, home of the Salish and Kootenai tribes.  The reservation is 1.3 million acres.  We stopped in St. Ignatius, nestled in the heart of the Mission Valley, and the St. Ignatius Mission.  The mission was established in 1854 and is still in very good condition.

It's too bad the weather was so overcast, we could have gotten some lovely scenic shots of valleys, streams, marshes, and mountains.  We arrived at Polson, Flathead Lake, in the early afternoon and were able to check into our lodge early.  It's Indian owned, a casino as well as a lodge, right on Flathead Lake.  We have a lakefront room with patio chairs, which would be perfect in good weather.  Well, it could be a lot worse.

Instead of sitting outside and enjoying the lake, we got caught up on some email, AARF activities, and worked on the blog.  Mark watched some football.  We got dinner to take back to our room from the one little restaurant.  Didn't even peek into the casino as we could smell the smoke from the hallways.
